BRIT Regional Centre, Hyderabad was established in 1989 and is located in the campus of CCMB, Hyderabad.

Synthesis and supply of Phosphorus-32 ( 32 P) labelled nucleotides have been a remarkable service offered by this centre for the last several years to leading research institutes, universities, and industrial research centres. These nucleotides find applications in the field of in vitro kinase assays, generation of labelled DNA/RNA probes for hybridisation, DNA fingerprinting, sequencing etc
and are of the highest international standards providing reliability and excellence at par in performance. Labelled nucleotides are available in two different formulations (under LCP and PLC series) and are shipped in dry ice and at ambient temperature respectively.

The centre supplies ready-to-use sodium pertechnetate extracted from molybdenum-99 ( 99 Mo) on customer demand. Regulatory approval is received for procurement of 68 Ge/ 68 Ga generators and this will help meet the growing demand for SPECT and PET diagnostic imaging using 99m Tc and 68 Ga-radiopharmaceuticals by the Nuclear Medicine Centres located in Hyderabad.

The centre serves as a retail outlet for sale of TCK cold kits to local nuclear medicine centres for preparation of 99m Tc- radiopharmaceutical formulations.

The centre has initiated Radio analytical Service from Hyderabad to cater to the growing customers in and around Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. It has obtained NABL accreditation for testing of 137 Cs radionuclide content in food commodities.

This centre produces and supplies a wide range of molecular biology reagents and kits, Taq DNA polymerase, PCR master mix, nucleic acid isolation and DNA labelling kits for application in the areas of healthcare, agriculture, life sciences and biotechnology research. It has recently validated and launched Magnetic Cellulose bead-based DNA extraction kits for supply.

Real-time PCR applications for molecular diagnostics have been an additional major research area at the centre and have contributed significantly toward improved products and technology development.
